If you are new to CBE then you first need to have an intake with one of our teachers to determine your current language level and goals.

There are a number of ways you can arrange an intake:

- Drop in during one of our open days (no appointment needed!)

- Complete the free level test and we will contact you to complete the intake

- Contact us to make an appointment

Current course prices - see here.

Course books are not included in the course fee and must be purchased separately. This can be done through CBE, as well as through regular booksellers. There are no other hidden costs and no VAT is charged as we are registered with the CRKBO.

For the progression of your language level, it helps if you prepare well for your lessons and do the homework afterwards. The amount of (self) study varies from course to course. The teacher will advise you at the beginning of the course how many hours you should spend on self-study.

Everyone who can read and write to a sufficient standard (in their own language) is welcome to join a course. For on-site courses, students should already be residing in the Netherlands and be able to attend weekly lessons for a minimum of 3 months.

No, we do not handle any visa or accommodation requests. You are welcome to contact us from abroad, but you need to sit the intake test in person, so it is best to contact us after you have arrived in the Netherlands.

Our group courses are part-time and short-term. A standard group course has 11 lessons spread over 12 weeks. Lessons are 1 x 2 hours per week or 2 x 2 hours per week. We do not offer any full-time group courses during the regular terms.

In the summer we usually offer 2-week intensive courses of 40 hours.

If you wish to study 1-1 (private lessons) then we can offer you a more intensive package of study.

Before you register for a course, or private tuition, we give you an intake test to determine your language level. Based on the results we will advise which course is most suitable.

The intake test will take place at CBE Languages, either during the specified registration weeks, or at a mutually appointed time.

Our group courses are for people aged 21 and over, so children are not permitted. However, we can provide 1-1 language tuition for children. Please contact the CBE desk for more information.

Our standard payment policy states all course fees must be paid upfront, before the course begins. In exceptional circumstances, where a student is unable to manage a one-off payment, we may allow payment in two installments.

Invoices and company payments are only permitted in one, full payment.
